Summer Life Devotions | week3

Over the course of the summer, we are doing summer devotionals together as one church! Every week, we will post seven scriptures, each with a thought and a prayer you can pray. Easy to add to your current devotional life and something we can share over the summer.

DAY 15

 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 
John 10: 27-28

Thought : You are precious to God, your name is written in his hands. Nothing and no one can separate you from Him.

Pray : Present all your fears, angst and afflictions to God. He will fill you with the confidence in His promise that no one will snatch you out of His hand. 

DAY 16

 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Ephesians 3: 20-21

Thought: We believe that the Lord is able to act in our lives beyond all that we can ever ask or think. Put your life in the hands of the Lord today and he will amaze you with more than you can ever imagine.

Pray: That the Lord’s will is established in our lives, so that we don’t have to worry about things that He will work in us and through us, because it will all be through His power.

DAY 17

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me
Galatians 2 :20

Thought: We now live by faith in Jesus Christ, there is no better life to live indeed.

Pray: That we may understand God’s purpose to us. To seek Him in every situation.

DAY 18

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6: 22-23

Thought: When you give your life to Christ, you become His servant, and are made holy. That means you are perfect right standing with God. That is not to say everything we do is perfect, and sometimes there are areas of our lives we need to bring under His rule.

Pray: That every are of your life, even hidden areas get brought under His holiness as we continue to grow in His grace.

DAY 19

I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Psalm 104:33

Thought : We are blessed because we know how big and faithful God is. How good it is to be thankful to Him!

Pray: For our worship team. For the Holy Spirit to inspire them with wisdom and love, so they can lead us to worship God in spirit and in truth.  For our Senior Pastors today, Steve & Lizby Warren. Pray for our Service Pastors.

DAY 20 

Commit your way to the Lord;  trust in him and he will do this:
Psalm 37:5

Thought: We must surrender our lives to God completely, trust that He is in control of our lives and to expect the great things that He will do.

Pray: That the Lord may help us surrender, trust and wait in Him.

DAY 21

Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.
Proverbs 21:21

Thought: We don’t find life, prosperity and honor by seeking these things for themselves. But we will end up finding them when we pursue these powerful principles in God’s kingdom: righteousness and love.

Pray: For a hunger for righteousness and love.  Pray for a spiritual hunger to continue to be a core thread to our Church.
