Summer Life Devotions | week4

Over the course of the summer, we are doing summer devotionals together as one church! Every week, we will post seven scriptures, each with a thought and a prayer you can pray. Easy to add to your current devotional life and something we can share over the summer.

DAY 22

This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
Ezekiel 37:5

Thought : There is a breath that fills us – He is the Holy Spirit.  He brings us alive to our purpose to be servants and workers together in the kingdom.

Pray : For life to fill the community of Church today.  Pray that we together rise as an army of workers full of His Spirit.

DAY 23

I am the bread of LIFE.  John 6:35

Thought : What are you feasting on today, what are you chewing over?Worry? Uncertainty? Fear? Or are you choosing to feed on Jesus, the bread of life?

Pray : That as you feed on the words of Jesus as a person, as a family, as a Group, that the life you experience will deeper and richer than ever before.

DAY 24

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

Thought : When we seek God and his kingdom first, He promises to fulfill us and equip us with all that is needed. God knows what we need the most and even what we desire. He is faithful to give us according to his perfect plan.

Pray: For wisdom to seek Him first and in turn receiving from Him a healthy, fulfilled life.

DAY 25

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
Revelation 21:6

Thought: God is the source of infinite love. Those who seek to be filled with his word, will never thirst. What have you been filling yourself with?

Pray: For the word of God to be our fountain and that it may nourish our spirit.

DAY 26

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
1John 3 : 16

Thought : God did not create us to be alone but to be in community, supporting each other and building his kingdom in this world. God is love and he loved us before we were born. Love is a decision, it is not always an easy decision but an intentional one. We grow and learn more when we love each other.

Pray : For protection over our church, pastors, leaders, community, families, marriage, children and neighbors.

DAY 27

And this is what he promised us—eternal life
.1John 2:25

Thought : Do you believe it? There will be people you know who don’t yet believe. This is our mission in this world, share his word to all around us.

Pray: Pray for all people around us that need to hear the news of salvation and eternal life. May God give us opportunities to share his word.

DAY 28

For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Psalm 36: 9

Thought: In Jesus is the fountain of LIFE, that is available all the time to those who seek. He is the endless fountain of love and grace.

Pray: For us to see our lives with God’s eyes and our situation through His perspective. God can bring light to the darkness.
